Report: Nicholaus Iamaleava commits to Tennessee
Tennessee reeled in a major addition with quarterback Nicholaus Iamaleava, who announced his commitment to the program on Monday, according to ESPN's Tom VanHaaren.
"They had everything I was looking for," Iamaleava told 247Sports's Greg Biggins. "I met some incredible people, not just with the football program but everyone we met was so welcoming to us and made me feel like home.
"I really believe in those coaches," Iamaleava said. "Development is big for me and I know (QBs coach Joey) Halzle and coach (Josh) Heupel can get the best out of me and help me reach my dreams of playing in the NFL."
The Long Beach, California, native is the fourth-ranked prospect in the state and the fourth-rated pocket passer among the ESPN Jr. 300.
The 6-foot-6, 195-pound quarterback becomes the fifth verbal pledge of Tennessee's current class alongside fellow Jr. 300 member Ethan Davis.
Iamaleava is the latest commitment in a 2023 recruiting cycle headlined by signal-callers Arch Manning, Malachi Nelson, and Dante Moore.
