Alabama's Young returns to lineup, starts vs. Tennessee
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young started Saturday's game against Tennessee after missing last weekend's contest against Texas A&M.
Young, who has been dealing with an AC sprain, returned to practice this past week. The third-year passer sustained the injury to his throwing shoulder in the first half of the Crimson Tide's 49-26 win against Arkansas on Oct. 1.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban placed Young on a pitch count during the week, but the reigning Heisman Trophy winner didn't appear to be limited against the Volunteers.
"Bryce has practiced some this week," Saban said, according to Maxwell Donaldson of The Tuscaloosa News. "I think it comes down to how does he feel, and we feel that he can throw the ball effectively enough."
Sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe started last weekend with Young sidelined, leading the Crimson Tide to a 24-20 win over the Aggies.
Young passed for 455 yards and two touchdowns while completing 35-of-52 pass attempts. Despite Young's tremendous effort, the Crimson Tide were defeated 52-49.
