Texas' Robinson forgoing senior season to enter NFL draft
Texas running back Bijan Robinson is declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft, he announced Monday.
The junior tailback will forgo his senior year of eligibility to enter the professional ranks. He'll also skip Texas' Alamo Bowl matchup against Washington.
The Arizona native was awarded the Doak Walker Award, presented to the top running back in the country each season, after his 2022 campaign.
The third-year star set a single-game career high with 243 yards and four touchdowns in a win against Kansas this season. Robinson followed that up by racking up 179 yards on the ground with a pair of scores in his final game at Texas.
Robinson rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns with a 6.1 yards per carry average this season. He added 19 catches for 314 yards and two scores.
Robinson concludes his Longhorns tenure with the fourth-most career rushing yards (3,410) in program history behind only Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson, and D'Onta Foreman. His 41 total touchdowns are also the fourth-highest total in Texas history.
