EA Sports inviting college football players to appear in 2024 video game

EA Sports has contracted OneTeam Partners to facilitate the addition of collegiate athletes' names and likenesses to its upcoming college football video game, a company representative told Michael Rothstein of ESPN.

All eligible FBS players will have the opportunity to opt in and receive compensation for appearing in EA Sports College Football, which is scheduled for release in 2024.

It's unknown how much players will earn or how payments will be structured, but EA Sports said the goal is to be "as inclusive and equitable as possible," according to Rothstein. The studio will reportedly create generic profiles and avatars for players who don't want to be in the game.

EA Sports hasn't released a college football game since NCAA Football 14 in 2014. It announced in 2021 that it would return to the collegiate football space with a new title.

The company confirmed more than 120 FBS schools, all 10 FBS conferences, and the College Football Playoff have committed to appearing in the game.
