Deion wants Hunter to sit out next 2 games, return after bye week
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders intends to keep two-way star Travis Hunter out of action until after the team's bye week.
"Let's say two or three (weeks)," said Sanders, according to ESPN's Kyle Bonagura. "It would be my dream and desire for him to stay out until after the bye week."
Hunter has been sidelined since suffering a lacerated kidney in the third game of the campaign, a win over Colorado State.
Colorado's bye comes between an Oct. 13 matchup with Stanford and an Oct. 28 game against UCLA. The 3-2 Buffaloes will look to get back to winning ways versus Arizona State on Saturday after dropping back-to-back contests to USC and Oregon.
Hunter made a plea to return for the game against the Trojans, but Sanders rebuffed him, telling the cornerback/wide receiver that he needed more time to recover.
The sophomore has excelled on both sides of the ball this season, making 16 catches for 213 yards while also producing nine tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception.
