Former Texas A&M defensive lineman LT Overton is transferring to Alabama, he told 247 Sports' Steve Wiltfong.

Overton signed with the Aggies as a five-star prospect in their 2022 recruiting class.

The Georgia native made an immediate impact, recording 31 tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack during his freshman campaign. Overton's production dipped in 2023 as he tallied 17 tackles and three quarterback hurries.

"Really just liked the connection I had going there," Overton said after visiting Alabama's campus this past weekend.

Overton credited Alabama's talent on both sides of the ball for influencing his decision to join the Crimson Tide.

"When I went there, just seeing talent after talent, especially on the offensive side, I know I'm going to get great competition there and be developed. That's what I'm really looking for," he said.

The Crimson Tide qualified for the College Football Playoff and face Michigan in the semifinal on Jan.1.

"I feel like I can make an impact but (will) be ready to work and earn a spot," Overton said.
