Report: Arizona to hire Babers as OC
Arizona is expected to hire former Syracuse head coach Dino Babers as its new offensive coordinator, sources confirmed to ESPN's Pete Thamel.
The 62-year-old will make his return to the Wildcats after previously working as an Arizona assistant from 1995 to 2000. He'll reunite with head coach Brent Brennan, who served as a graduate assistant during Babers' first stint with the Wildcats.
Babers will replace former offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll, who left with ex-Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch for Washington.
Syracuse dismissed Babers after the team posted a 5-6 mark during his 2023 campaign. The Orange produced a 41-55 record during Babers' tenure, which included two bowl appearances.
Babers will get to coach quarterback Noah Fifita and receiver Tetairoa McMillan as both players decided to remain at Arizona following Fisch's departure.
