UCF QB Gabbert leaves program
UCF head coach George O'Leary confirmed after the Knights' 38-0 win over FIU Friday quarterback Tyler Gabbert was one of two players to leave the program earlier in the week.
Gabbert was listed as the No. 2 QB on the team's depth chart prior to the win and decided to leave the team.
Gabbert has made a habit of transferring programs in order to further develop his career. He left Missouri in favor of Louisville in 2011 after losing the No. 1 job to his older brother, Blaine, who is now the QB for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Gabbert then left the Cardinals' program a few months later to play for UCF.
Wide receiver Dareen Owi is the other departed UCF player.
