Former LSU football coach Paul Dietzel passes away at age 89
After struggling with his health, former Louisiana State University football coach Paul Dietzel passed away at the age of 89 Tuesday.
WAFB.com reported that Dietzel passed away peacefully with his son and two grandsons by his side.
Dietzel coached LSU from 1955-1961 winning a national title in 1958 during an 11-0 season, where they allowed only 53 points.
Dietzel was an innovator at LSU, gave us Chinese Bandits and 1958. Later coached SCar to an ACC title.

After leaving to coach Army and South Carolina, Diezel would eventually return to LSU to serve as athletic director from 1978-1982.
