Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and his players will no longer take questions from The Denver Post's Sean Keeler after what the program called "personal attacks" from the columnist, according to The Denver Post's Matt Schubert.

"After a series of sustained personal attacks on the football program and specifically (Sanders), the CU athletic department, in conjunction with the football program, have decided not to take questions from Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler at football-related events," the school wrote in a statement.

When The Denver Post requested specific examples of how Keeler personally attacked Sanders, a school official cited his use of phrases such as: "false prophet," "Deposition Deion," "Planet Prime," and the "Bruce Lee of B.S." among other monikers, per Schubert.

Colorado staffers declined to comment when asked if Sanders requested that Keeler be banned from asking questions. Keeler will still be credentialed by Colorado for practices and other football-related events and is allowed to cover other sports at the school without restriction.

Sanders has specific language in his contract that requires him to speak with only "mutually agreed upon media" as part of his employment with Colorado.

Keeler and Sanders previously had a public argument during an Aug. 9 press conference.

"You don't like us, man. Why do you do this to yourself?" Sanders said, according to The Athletic's David Ubben. "Why do you do this, though? No, I'm serious. Why do you do this? It would be hard for me to really engage with or someone or something I really don't like. I'm just asking why. What did I do?"

Keeler wrote a column the following day detailing the interaction, writing: "I've taken my swings at the pinata. Friday was Prime's turn, and he didn't miss. I had it coming, as the old song from 'Chicago' goes. That's fine."

Sanders is set to lead the Buffaloes for a second year after they finished with a 4-8 record in 2023.

Colorado opens its second stint as a Big 12 member against North Dakota State on Aug. 29.
