Michigan benched quarterback Davis Warren in the second half of Saturday's 28-18 win versus Arkansas State after he threw three interceptions.

The senior passer completed 11 of 14 attempts for 122 yards and zero touchdowns before the Wolverines made the change to Alex Orji.

The Wolverines had a 21-3 lead over the Red Wolves at the time of Warren's benching. Orji made an immediate impact, leading Michigan on a nine-play, 80-yard drive capped off by a nine-yard touchdown pass to Hogan Hansen. The junior passer completed 2 of 4 passes for 12 yards and rushed for 27 yards on three carries in the victory.

Head coach Sherrone Moore highlighted the need for players around Warren to do their job to help prevent turnovers following last week's loss to Texas.

"Not great stuff to put on film," Moore said about Warren's performance Saturday, according to The Athletic's Austin Meek.

Warren started each of Michigan's first two games this season entering its Week 3 matchup. The Los Angeles native passed for 322 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions while completing 63.8% of his passes in his first two starts against Fresno State and Texas.

Michigan star tight end Colston Loveland left the game before halftime with an apparent injury. He was spotted wearing street clothes on the sideline at the start of the second half. Moore didn't have an update on Loveland's injury following the win, per Meek.
