Quarterback Brady Cook shook off a first-quarter injury to help lead Missouri to a 21-17 win against Auburn.

Cook sustained an ankle injury on the Tigers' opening series of the game and was taken to a local hospital during the contest to undergo an MRI. He not only returned to the stadium but re-entered the game late in the third quarter with his team down 17-3.

After returning to the field, Cook connected on a 72-yard pass to help set up a touchdown and authored a game-winning drive with under five minutes remaining as the Tigers improved to 5-1 on the season.

"When I came back, I just knew we weren't going to lose," Cook said postgame, according to ESPN.com.

The senior quarterback admitted that he was doubtful he'd return to the game after taking off his pads. He didn't go into detail about what he did to get back into the game but said he didn't feel any pain until Jamal Roberts rushed in for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.

"I think this win's gonna take us far. I think this was one of those moments for our team that we hadn't had yet," Cook said.

When asked how he got to the hospital and back to the stadium, Cook revealed that he was in a truck with a team trainer and driving through tailgates while "making eye contact with some very confused fans," according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Eli Hoff.

The St. Louis native completed 11 of 22 pass attempts for 194 yards in less than a half of play. Drew Pyne filled in for Cook.

"That's their guy. They believe in him more than anybody else. We all do. Nobody doubts that guy," head coach Eli Drinkwitz said.
