Florida's Lagway carted off against Georgia
Florida quarterback DJ Lagway was carted off the field in Saturday's loss to Georgia after suffering an apparent lower-body injury.
Head coach Billy Napier said postgame that Lagway sustained a soft-tissue injury, according to The Athletic's Matt Baker.
Lagway appeared to sustain the injury in the second quarter on a run and remained on the field for several minutes before leaving on a cart.
The freshman star completed two of six pass attempts for 47 yards and one touchdown while adding 18 rushing yards to help the Gators to a 10-3 lead.
Aidan Warner replaced Lagway at quarterback. He passed for 66 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception.
Lagway has led the way for Florida's offense in his first season with the program. He's passed for 1,024 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions, while completing 62.8% of his passes.
The injury is the latest setback for Florida. Graham Mertz was ruled out for the remainder of the year after sustaining a season-ending knee injury.
