Ex-Iowa State QB Becht commits to Penn State
Former Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht committed to Penn State, he told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Becht will reunite with Matt Campbell, who left the Cyclones to become the Nittany Lions' head coach in December.
The 22-year-old Becht brings starting experience after leading Iowa State to 26 wins during his tenure.
"Penn State is getting a winner - someone who is competitive and wants to win every game," Becht said. "Whatever my stats may be, all I want to do is win. Whatever I have to do for the team."
Becht passed for 9,274 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions while completing 60% of his pass attempts in 42 games with the Cyclones.
Penn State fills a void under center following the departures of Drew Allar and Ethan Grunkemeyer. The Nittany Lions concluded their 2025 campaign with a 7-6 record, having fired James Franklin as coach in October at 3-3.
