Iowa State defensive lineman David Irving has been dismissed from the team just one day after being suspended indefinitely.
Irving was charged for his role in a riot last week after pictures surfaced of him carrying a stop sign in a large crowd.
Head coach Paul Rhoads made the announcement in a statement on Saturday.
“It’s a privilege and an honor to be a part of this football program and represent Iowa State football, Iowa State athletics and Iowa State University,” Rhoads said via the Ames Tribune. “David Irving has exhausted that privilege to represent this football program by not meeting the expectations that we’ve laid out for him.”
