Baylor's Robbie Rhodes won't face charges for marijuana possession
After being searched a traffic stop just over a month ago, Baylor Bears wide receiver Robbie Rhodes was arrested for possession of 5.8 grams of marijuana, as well as tampering with physical evidence (for trying to hide the drugs).
On Tuesday, the Waco Tribune reported that criminal charges would not be pursued by the McLennan County District Attorney's office against the soon-to-be sophomore.
According to attorney Jonathan Sibley, Baylor has been drug-testing Rhodes for about seven months and he has never tested positive.
"Robbie didn’t have anything to do with it," Sibley is quoted as saying. "Baylor runs a clean program, and it helps that they have been testing Robbie because that helped us present evidence to the district attorney to convince them that he had no connection to this drug activity that they accused him of and arrested him for."
Baylor athletics officials had no comment on the DA’s decision.
