Phillip Ely finally has his starting job.
The former Alabama quarterback has earned the No. 1 spot at Toledo and is expected to open against New Hampshire on Saturday.

Ely transferred to Toledo in May 2013, but was forced to sit the season out because of NCAA transfer rules. He spent two seasons at Alabama, where he redshirted in 2011 and served as backup in 2012, completing three of four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.
