South Alabama Jaguars sell out game for first time
On Saturday the South Alabama Jaguars will host Mississippi State at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, and for the first time in the program's history, it's a sellout.
Needless to say, Jag Nation is pretty excited.
Ladd-Peebles Stadium seats approximately 40,000 people, without signage in the stands, and a little more than 33,000 with signage placed in the end zones. Saturday's game will not have signage.
Jaguars athletics director Joel Erdmann said that this could serve as a trigger for the program while boosting attendance for games to come.
"You probably can't properly measure the impact of a sellout,'' Erdmann said. "It goes beyond the number of people that are in the stadium and indicated the interest and level of enthusiasm and excitement from our students, our alumni and our community. It's something that is one of those milestone moments that we will always point to.''
