Coveted high school recruit Nick Bosa could be better than standout brother at Ohio State
Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa could face a bit of familial competition in a few years.
That's because the standout's younger brother Nick, a junior at perennial powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is currently one of the most sought-after high school recruits in the country.
Rivals.com lists Nick as a four-star prospect and the second-ranked strongside defensive end in the 2016 recruiting class. He's the eighth-ranked prospect in the entire state of Florida.
While the elder Bosa is expected to build on a superb freshman season in which he racked up 7 1/2 sacks, some observers think Nick can be even better.
From Sports Illustrated:
At 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Bosa possesses an uncanny combination of size, speed and power that allows him to dominate offensive linemen and make life hell for opposing offensive coordinators. He bench presses 365 pounds and can throw down windmill and 360 dunks.
This past weekend, Nick visited Ohio State, where he took a selfie with LeBron James and hung out with several Buckeyes in the team's locker room. However, there's no guarantee that he'll choose Ohio State just because Joey plays there.
Nick told SI.com that he still plans to visit several schools including Florida State, and that a decision won't come any time soon.
Odds are he'll end up in Columbus on the same defensive front as his older brother, provided Joey doesn't leave early for the NFL.
Moreover, mother Cheryl attended Ohio State, as did their uncle, Eric Kumerow, a first-round NFL draft pick who played for the Buckeyes.
