Ohio State's Spence apologizes, seeks drug rehabilitation
After being suspended for the second time in nine months as a result of a positive test for traces of ecstasy, Ohio State defensive end Noah Spence is seeking forgiveness and help to move forward with his football career.
“I want to apologize to my family, Ohio State’s coaching staff, the Big Ten Conference and Buckeye Nation for the disappointment,” Spence wrote in a text message to The Columbus Dispatch. “I will work extremely hard to get healthy and to one day use this unfortunate situation to be a positive role model for others. Thank you.”
Spence will also soon enter into a drug rehabilitation program with the help of Ohio State's medical staff, according to ESPN college football insider Brett McMurphy.
It is unclear at this point whether Spence will return to the Buckeyes upon completing his rehab program and serving his suspension.
