After wearing red bandana-themed uniforms in honor of 9/11 victim Welles Crowther in their upset of USC on Saturday, the Boston College Eagles have decided to stick with the tribute for the remainder of the season.
Head coach Steve Addazio confirmed the move to SiriusXM's "College Sports Today" with Mark Packer on Tuesday.
Crowther was a Boston College alumnus and former Eagles lacrosse player who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in New York City.
He wore a red bandana on that fateful day while saving numerous people in the South Tower of the World Trade Center before the attacks claimed his life.
The Eagles (2-1) host the Maine Black Bears (1-1) on Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
