Former USC receiver Victor Blackwell was reportedly arrested for suspicion of domestic violence on Wednesday, just two days after leaving the football team.

It is alleged that his girlfriend reported being punched numerous times in the face and had a chair thrown at her during a heated dispute. She also claimed that the receiver damaged her door, cell phone and computer, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 21-year-old Blackwell was booked at the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Division station on $50,000 bail and may be charged with a felony.

The university released a statement through Ainsley Carry, the vice provost for student affairs on Friday.

"The University of Southern California takes very seriously any report of violence or assault and does not tolerate any form of harassment, violence or intimidation," he said.

"The university is assisting the Los Angeles Police Department in its investigation of USC student Victor Blackwell. Our own student judicial process is confidential in compliance with federal privacy laws."

Blackwell, a junior, has 112 yards on eight catches over his USC career. He only played in 2014's season opener against Fresno State, where he caught three passes for 54 yards.

While unrelated to the arrest, Blackwell removed himself from the Trojans on Monday after disappearing from the team for numerous weeks.
