Louisiana-Lafayette's Jamal Robinson out for season following surgery
Louisiana-Lafayette wide receiver Jamal Robinson won't play again this year after undergoing surgery Wednesday for an injured right foot, according to Tim Buckley of The Advertiser.
The NFL prospect sustained the injury during Tuesday's Sun Belt Conference win at Texas State, head coach Mark Hudspeth said Thursday.
Robinson ranks eighth all-time in Ragin' Cajuns receiving yards.
The news outlet speculated the injury to be a ligament tear in the foot.
UL-Lafayette will now seek a medical hardship waiver for the senior, potentially clearing the way for a fifth season with the team.
Robinson missed two-and-a-half games earlier this season when he tore knee meniscus, an injury that also required surgery.
He returned against Georgia State, recording eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns. However, Tuesday at Texas State, the pass-catcher injured his foot while making a catch.
Robinson recorded 15 catches for 260 yards and four touchdowns before the latest injury.
