Lane Kiffin's mother is scared for son's safety vs. Tennessee; his wife, less so

Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin will return with the Crimson Tide on Saturday to face a Tennessee crowd more likely to welcome him with closed fists than open arms.

Kiffin was the head coach at Tennessee in 2009 and left after only one season to coach for the USC Trojans in January 2010. Now his mother is worried as he plans to coach from the sideline in front of the volatile Knoxville crowd.

"I'm scared to death for his safety," Lane's mother Robin Kiffin told CBS. "Some people were visiting us last weekend from Tennessee and they said they better not let him on the sideline (where Kiffin coaches at Alabama), they should put him in the press box. I want him to be in the press box."

The volatile matchup between Alabama and Tennessee kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
