Mississippi State's Justin Cox suspended indefinitely following off-campus incident
Mississippi State defensive back Justin Cox has been suspended from the football program indefinitely following a Thursday night off-campus incident, the university confirmed Friday.
The Starkville Daily News provided further information about the incident:
Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Department Lt. Brett Watson said deputies responded to a burglary call on Rocky Road in the Aspen Heights apartment complex at about 3 a.m. Friday. He said upon arrival, deputies found a female victim with an injury to her head. Watson would not identify the victim.
Watson said deputies arrested Cox, a 21-year-old West Point native, at the scene on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling and aggravated domestic violence and booked him into Oktibbeha County Jail.
Cox has 21 tackles for the fourth-ranked Bulldogs this season.
