VIDEOS: Top 5 college football plays of the year
If you blinked, this list is for you.
With bowl season upon us, we've compiled the top five plays of the college football season:
OLE MISS RB JAYLEN WALTON (VS. MISSISSIPPI STATE, NOV. 29)
Walton took a handoff deep in Rebels territory with one goal: help his team march up the field.
He instead went one step further - or rather, several steps - in one of the most sensational scoring runs of the season:
OREGON DB IFO EKPRE-OLOMU (VS. MICHIGAN STATE, SEPT. 6)
Spartans quarterback Connor Cook looked downfield and launched a bullet up the middle. The ball was deflected, and it appeared it would drop for an incomplete pass - but Ekpre-Olomu had other plans.
The Ducks cornerback sprung out, arms extended, and somehow came up with the interception - showing why he's an All-American in the process.
MINNESOTA TE MAXX WILLIAMS (VS. IOWA, NOV. 8)
The Golden Gophers tight end used every bit of his length to catch a pass that wouldn't have been possible if he were a fraction of an inch shorter.
Williams was so close to an incomplete pass that pieces of turf came flying up as he scraped the ground with his toes while fighting to stay in bounds.
NEBRASKA RB AMEER ABDULLAH (VS. MCNEESE STATE, SEPT. 6)
Abdullah's Cornhuskers found themselves tied with unheralded McNeese State in the fourth quarter of their Week 2 matchup, leaving Nebraska perilously close to one of the biggest upsets of the season.
Cue the Abdullah heroics, as he executed an electrifying catch-and-run for the winning score with 20 seconds remaining in the game. Simply amazing.
NEBRASKA WR JORDAN WESTERKAMP (VS. FLORIDA ATLANTIC, AUG. 30)
This play happened back in Week 1 - and if you didn't see it, that's all right, because Westerkamp didn't, either.
The Cornhuskers wide receiver had a pass intended for him deflected. Instead of giving up on the play, he caught the ball behind his back for an inexplicable grab that had the nation buzzing.
