Report: Georgia's Isaiah McKenzie suspended for Belk Bowl

Denny Medley / USA TODAY Sports

Georgia freshman Isaiah McKenzie will sit out the Belk Bowl against Louisville on Tuesday as he serves a one-game suspension.

The reason for the suspension is unclear, although head coach Mark Richt addressed the issue Friday, as relayed by Gentry Estes of 247 Sports.

"Isaiah will not play in this game. Isaiah has got a one-game suspension," Richt said. "It's not an academic eligibility issue. It's not a drug issue or anything like that. It's more of an in-house, taking-care-of-business issue. But he'll be back in January. He'll just miss this game."

McKenzie, listed as a wide receiver, is a key part of the Bulldogs special teams. He accounted for three touchdown returns this season, two by way of punts and one on a kickoff.
