No. 29 recruit Roquan Smith reopens search based on status of UCLA's defensive coordinator
National Signing Day appeared to be a dominant day for UCLA as it reeled in a collection of notable prospects, but things have taken a twist with one of the top commits for the Bruins.
Roquan Smith, the nation's 29th-ranked recruit according to ESPN, declared his commitment to the program early in the day during a messy announcement ceremony. But the outside linebacker has apparently reconsidered.

The 6-foot-2, 204-pounder apparently reopened his recruiting search due to news of the departure of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to the Atlanta Falcons, according to Logan Booker of Classic City Today.
It is reported that if Ulbrich indeed leaves for the Falcons, Smith may wind up in Georgia, but if the coach stays with the Bruins, Smith would join him there.
