TCU's Trevone Boykin undergoes minor wrist surgery

Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports

Trevone Boykin went under the knife on Thursday.

The TCU quarterback had surgery to repair a bone on his non-throwing left wrist, which he injured last season. He continued to play after suffering the injury by wearing a soft cast on his left hand.

"Everything is great," head coach Gary Patterson told FOX Sports Southwest's David Ubben. "Minor surgery, so no worries."

Horned Frogs fans can remain calm. Patterson said Boykin, who will sit out TCU's spring game on April 10, will be ready for action on May 1.

Boykin is a prized player on the Horned Frogs squad. He threw for 3,901 yards and 33 touchdowns against 10 interceptions last season, finishing fourth in the Heisman Trophy race.

Here is a throwback to Boykin stunting on Kansas State with a flip into the end zone.
