Woman seeks dismissal of suit against daughter of Alabama's Nick Saban
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A woman is asking a judge to dismiss her lawsuit against the daughter of University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban.
A lawyer for Sarah Grimes filed a motion Thursday asking a Tuscaloosa County judge to throw out the woman's suit against sorority sister Kristen Saban.
Grimes sued the coach's daughter in 2012 over a fight they had while attending college in 2010. The lawsuit claimed Grimes suffered lasting injuries during the brawl.
The one-sentence dismissal motion doesn't give a reason for the move. It says each woman should pay her own legal costs.
A judge threw out the lawsuit at Kristen Saban's request, but the Alabama Supreme Court reinstated it in December. The case was set for trial in August.
Both women have graduated since the fight.
