Charlie Weis could earn $24.5M from Notre Dame and Kansas while not coaching
Charlie Weis hasn't coached Notre Dame since 2009, but could end up earning almost $19 million in buyout money, according to Matt Fortuna of ESPN.
In addition to the $5.63 million he is still owed from Kansas, the coach could earn about $24.5 million for not coaching two NCAA college football teams.
Weis is reportedly still earning payouts of just over $2 million from Notre Dame annually, and that is expected to continue through December 2015. His initial payout was $6.6 million.
The one-time Bill Belichick acolyte was fired from Notre Dame in 2009, after five middling seasons, in which the team won just one bowl game. After a short return to the NFL, Weis was hired by Kansas in 2012 and led the Jayhawks to a 6-22 overall record in two plus seasons.
It is expected that Weis will be getting paid his remaining $5.63 million monthly by Kansas in addition to the lump sums he's receiving from Notre Dame.
In conclusion, Charlie Weis has earned a lot of money as an unsuccessful head coach.
