4-star running back Chris Evans commits to Michigan
Michigan has added another running back to its 2016 recruiting class.
Four-star prospect Chris Evans announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Saturday after weighing offers from several schools, including Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Purdue.
"Coach (Jim) Harbaugh and all the coaching staff there, the connections they have, former NFL coaches," Evans told 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong of what persuaded him to choose the Wolverines. "The feeling there at Michigan."
Evans rushed for 1,249 yards and 18 touchdowns on 185 carries as a junior and caught 61 receptions for 676 yards and another 10 touchdowns. 247Sports has Evans ranked as the nation's No. 5 all-purpose back.
The Indianapolis native is the ninth commitment for Michigan in the class of 2016, joining fellow running backs Matt Falcon and Kiante Enis. He offers some versatility for the Wolverines, as he could also play wide receiver, cornerback, or safety at the next level.
