Michigan cuts Big House capacity by 2,300
Michigan will still play its home games in the largest college football stadium in the nation in 2015, but there will be fewer bodies in the stands.
The school announced Friday the 109, 901-seat Michigan Stadium, nicknamed the Big House, will have a new capacity of 107,601, due to adjustments for accessibility and major non-football events.
Michigan said seats had to be taken out to widen aisles and install hand railing around the bowl, excluding the student seating section. There have also been seating adjustments, although less permanent, made for the NHL Winter Classic and the International Champions Cup in 2014.
Fear not, Wolverines fans. The Big House still seats more than Penn State's Beaver Stadium, which is the second-highest capacity stadium at 106, 572.
