The SEC's stricter policy on student-athlete transfers may be a topic of discussion for the Big 12 athletic directors this week.
Former Baylor defensive end Sam Ukwuachu was sentenced to 180 days and 10 years' felony probation on Friday for sexually assaulting a fellow student. Ukwuachu was a transfer from Boise State, where it was alleged that he was involved in an abusive relationship.
The SEC adopted a rule in May that prevents its member schools from accepting a transfer dismissed for "serious misconduct" such as sexual assault, domestic violence, or other forms of sexual violence.
"I'm sure (the SEC rule) will be a topic of discussion," Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby told CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd. "It may be a little too raw right now to do anything much with it. I think there may be an ongoing conversation."
Baylor head coach Art Briles denied having full knowledge of Ukwuachu's time at Boise State, but the Broncos' former head coach Chris Peterson said that he informed Briles over the phone.

It's expected the adoption of a new transfer rule would have to be voted in by the league's faculty representatives, according to CBS Sports' report.
