Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams was carted off the field during the first quarter in Saturday's season opener against Wofford after hitting the padding on the east end goal post while hauling in a pass.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney later announced that Williams had suffered a neck sprain, but his movement is good. There has been no announcement on the timetable of the injury.
Williams was down for several minutes after the collision, with Tigers staff bringing the stretcher onto the field for him.
The play was ultimately ruled a touchdown.
At the time of his departure, Williams had two receptions for 20 yards and one score. Clemson handily defeated Wafford 49-10.
