VIDEO: Montana State's Koni Dole plays despite amputated leg
Nothing was going to stop Koni Dole from taking the field again, even if it meant going at it with one leg.
Back in high school, Dole suffered a compound fracture in a Huntley Project High School game, where he required six surgeries and an amputation on his right leg from the knee down.
That was in 2012, and he hadn't played a game since - until Week 1 of this year's college football season.
Dole came in late in Montana State's 45-14 win over Fort Lewis last week, a moment the linebacker will never forget.
It was pretty emotional for me, coming up on three years since the amputation, Dole told Greg Rachac of the Billings Gazette. "I mean, I just never thought I'd be here, looking back."
