Syracuse HC Scott Shafer ditches visor after headache issues
Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer is considering permanently ditching his visor after originally taking off the piece of headwear during training camp because of headache woes.
He explained his decision to Nate Mink of Syrcause.com.
I was at practice early in summer camp and had a headache after practice. It was a two-a-day, went back in, came out for the second practice and said, 'You know, I'm not wearing this hat today.' I felt good after practice, so the next day, said I felt good yesterday without a visor on, so I'm not going to wear a visor today, and you stack up the days and I felt pretty good about not wearing it anymore. I don't know if I'll put one on again or not.
Observers noted that Shafer did not wear a visor in the Orange's 47-0 season-opening romp over Rhode Island last weekend.
Syracuse hosts Wake Forest on Saturday.
