Michigan State's Kieler out, Vayante Copeland in after Week 2 injuries
Michigan State looked impressive in its Week 2 win over Oregon, but the Spartans suffered two key injuries in the victory. Right tackle Kodi Kieler is expected to miss two weeks with a leg injury, and freshman defensive back Vayante Copeland left the game with a stinger, but will be in the lineup going forward according to head coach Mark Dantonio.
Juniors Benny McGowan, and Miguel Machado are set to take Kieler's spot in the starting lineup. Dantonio is confident both players can perform well in Kieler's absence.
"Benny played last week. Miguel a little bit, they went in there and did a nice job, both functional, meaning they are able to play within the scheme of things and we are able to put them on the field," said Dantonio.
Michigan State hosts Air Force in Week 3.
