The high school football players under fire for targeting a referee during a game in Texas are singling out their coach as the cause for the attack.
During an appearance on "Good Morning America" Friday morning, Victor Rojas and Michael Moreno said that their coach had pulled them aside and told them to attack the official because of alleged racial slurs and unjustified calls.
"(A coach) pulled me and another player over and he told us, and I quote, 'You need to hit him. You need to hit the ref. He needs to pay the price,'" explained Moreno.
Both players claim that they heard the referee say "speak English, this is America" to a Hispanic player, and the "n-word" to an African-American teammate.
