The mother and girlfriend of Rutgers' wide receiver Leonte Carroo were charged Monday for playing a role in a Sept. 12 altercation that saw the senior arrested for domestic violence.
Lavern Carroo and Maria Vega were charged for simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to multiple reports.
Less than an hour after a football game, Carroo's girlfriend was involved in a fight, where he reportedly intervened. The other woman was someone he had allegedly been previously romantically involved with.
Carroo is alleged to have slammed the other woman to the ground. He has since been indefinitely suspended from the program.
Head coach Kyle Flood is in the midst of serving a three-game suspension for his role in a separate matter.
