Miami linebacker Marques Gayot was taken to an area hospital Wednesday after suffering a neck injury during practice, the university announced.
According to multiple reports, the player had to be airlifted to the facility. The injury was the result of a collision, WSVN-TV reported.
Gayot is expected to make a full recovery and be released from the hospital Thursday.
Head coach Al Golden was scheduled to speak on the ACC teleconference call, but did not participate, according to moderator Mike Finn, "due to a situation."
