Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer had an unusual take on the Hokies' 35-28 loss to East Carolina on Saturday, comparing that type of game to a preseason matchup.

The loss leaves Virginia Tech 2-2, putting a big dent in its hopes of contending in the ACC.
The Hokies' first in-conference game of the season comes next week versus Pittsburgh.
