Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams appears to be done for the season after suffering a neck fracture on Sept. 5, the team announced.
Williams' initial prognosis was at least six weeks, but the team won't risk further injury.
"The most important thing is for him to heal up," co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott said. "At the very least, to be able to come back next year and have a great year, that’s probably what he’s focused on right now."
Williams suffered the injury crashing into the goal post while catching a touchdown pass on the first drive of the season.
