Florida State running back Mario Pender has been discharged from the hospital three weeks after he suffered a collapsed lung during practice.
The redshirt junior was hospitalized on Sept. 22 after bumping harmlessly into an offensive lineman at practice. Despite returning to the squad, head coach Jimbo Fisher said Pender lost 18 pounds in the interim, according to ESPN's Jared Shanker.
"He was moving around, talking, in great spirits and had a good look in his eye," Fisher said Thursday. "I was very happy to see that."
If Pender is unable to return this season, the school could apply for a medical redshirt. Pender is second on the team with 140 rushing yards.
