UCLA's Mossi Johnson to miss remainder of season with knee injury
UCLA wide receiver and safety Mossi Johnson will miss the rest of the season due to a significant knee injury he sustained in practice last week.
While coach Jim Mora wouldn't disclose specific details of the injury, he said "about everything" in Johnson's knee was affected, which implies damage to ACL, PCL, and MCL.
Johnson began the season as a wide receiver but switched to the defensive side after a multitude of injuries to UCLA's secondary.
He's the fourth Bruin to suffer a season-ending injury. Linebacker Myles Jack, defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes, and cornerback Fabian Moreau are also done for the year.
"They've worked so hard to get where they are, and in all four of those guys' cases, they're lost for the season," Mora told the Orange County Register. "They had great offseasons. They're on track for really good years. You hate to see that."
In addition to his defensive contributions, Johnson, a sophomore, will finish the year with eight receptions for 41 yards. Last season, Johnson racked up 23 catches for 232 yards and a touchdown.
