Stanford will be without its top cornerback Saturday against Cal, as Ronnie Harris was ruled out with an ankle injury, head coach David Shaw announced.
Harris was carted off the field in Saturday's loss to Oregon, but Shaw revealed there is no broken bones, and he'll aim to return for the season finale against Notre Dame.
"He is going to work like crazy to come back next week versus Notre Dame," Shaw said.
With Harris out, freshman Alameen Murphy will start against Jared Goff and the high-flying Golden Bears offense.
Harris' absence is a significant loss for Stanford, as the senior sits second in the Pac-12 with 10 pass breakups, and has recorded 34 tackles in nine games this season.
