Toledo is set to name offensive coordinator Jason Candle as its new head coach, according to Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated.
The Rockets are promoting from within, much like they did with former head coach Matt Campbell, who took the Iowa State job last weekend.
Candle has been on the Rockets' staff since 2009 and took over as offensive coordinator in 2012. Under Candle, Toledo has established itself as one of the premier offenses in the conference, finishing atop of the MAC in total offense last season and second in scoring offense this season.
Toledo will be heading to a bowl after finishing 9-2, where Candle will get his first shot as the head coach.
