Alabama has announced that defensive back Tony Brown has been sent home for a violation of team rules and will miss the Cotton Bowl, according to Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated.
The sophomore tied for the team lead with eight special teams tackles on the season - four on punts, and four on kickoff coverage.
It's unclear what exactly Brown did, though it's clear he won't play against Michigan State.
