Auburn's Jeremy Johnson changing jersey number to honor friend

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

Auburn quarterback Jeremy Johnson isn't worried about his rocky junior season. Instead, he's planning a touching gesture for a friend.

Johnson announced Tuesday that he plans to change from No. 6 to No. 1 to honor a friend who died in a car accident when the two were in high school.

There shouldn't be an issue with the switch, as there's currently no Tiger on offense wearing No. 1.
