It wasn't the ending it wanted, but aside from winning a national championship, it couldn't have been a more successful season for Clemson.
On Wednesday evening, the Tigers had another proud moment, digging two more graves to make room for two tombstones. The tradition on campus is that the team adds tombstones every time it has a big win away from home.
They're added for wins over top 25 opponents, ACC title-game victories, and bowl wins. Last year, Clemson picked up a win against North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game. They followed that up with a huge win over Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
